Life update y’all: WE’RE MOVING!

Here are the details. Mid May, I’ll receive my master’s degree, then we’ll pack up our tiny Lubbock apartment and hit the road for Farmington, NM (my hometown). We’re so stinkin’ excited!

Spencer is going to be staying on to work remotely with his current company, Switch IT Support, which is a huge blessing. He loves his boss and his company; we know we’re in good hands with them. Spencer thinks it’s real funny to talk about staying at home in his boxers all day while I go to work… (insert non-amused emoji here).

Spencer also has the opportunity to undergo some training at Grace Hill Church for his future in ministry. Grace Hill is working to be a part of the Acts 29 church planting network, which is what Redeemer, our current church in Lubbock, is a part of. Spencer has wanted to do ministry for a while now, so he’s excited to start the journey (and I’m excited to be on the journey with him).

I am going to be working as a real life speech-language pathologist at San Juan Regional Medical Center’s Pediatric Outpatient Center with some cross training to acute care. I’m WAY EXCITED! I worked for SJRMC as a rehab tech during the summers in undergrad, so I absolutely know I’m walking into a situation with great bosses and co-workers.

As far as living goes, we literally JUST got a call informing us that we’re now home owners! We traveled to Farmington this past weekend to look at houses with our realtor, Brandon Ryan. (Brandon’s excellent, btw. If you’re looking to buy/sell a house, he’s your dude.) We looked at 11 houses total, and found a cute fixer upper that we’re really excited to make our own. We’re drawing out kitchen remodel plans and dreaming about paint colors with our sweet friends Jay + Jennah as we speak!

While we’re so thrilled to move close to family, friends, and the mountains, it’ll be hard to say goodbye to Lubbock. This West Texas town has been the first home we’ve known as a married couple. It’s where we found a church we absolutely love. It’s where we joined a Gospel Community (small group) that we now call family; where we found friends that allow us to walk into their house without knocking. Needless to say, all the feels are coming with us on this move.

We’re grateful for this journey, and we’re going to continue to trust the Lord with every last step.
